About Richey Business

Richey Business is a small, practical, and very human operation led by David A. Richey and his daughter Olivia D. Richey. We don’t hide behind buzzwords or vague promises — we fix things, we build things, and we help people understand the tech and systems they’re relying on.

This site, the portal, the cameras, the dashboards, the videos — they’re all part of a bigger project: learning, experimenting, and turning that experience into real services for real people and businesses.

David A. Richey – Hands-On Problem Solver

David is the one who keeps things running when they shouldn’t be running at all. With a background across maintenance, repair, IT, and systems, he’s comfortable working on everything from vehicles and shop gear to servers, Raspberry Pis, networks, and security cameras.

His favorite kind of work is the “this is broken and nobody knows why” problem. Whether it’s overheating hardware, a flaky network, a noisy camera system, or a weird software setup, David attacks it piece by piece until it makes sense — and then makes it reliable.

Olivia D. Richey – Creative & Media

Olivia brings the creative spark: YouTube, video editing, story ideas, game concepts, artwork, and music. While David is wiring things, configuring servers, or fixing hardware, Olivia is often shaping how things look, sound, and feel.

She learns fast, experiments constantly, and helps turn “technical” projects into things that people actually enjoy using — whether that’s through visuals, storytelling, or just adding personality to the experience.

What This Site Really Is

Right now, this website is equal parts:

  • A working lab for testing ideas and tools
  • A place to organize services, links, and dashboards
  • A way to document what David and Olivia are building together
  • A foundation for future client-facing work

As things grow, more of the “real” offerings will move into proper pages, with Directus managing the content and Astro handling the front-end. For now, this is a snapshot of where the journey is, not where it ends.
